The first of three tours to Livigno in the Italian Dolomites. 1997 saw four pioneers lead an exploratory advance party to this tax haven in the sky.
Not dissimilar to Dr Livingstone, his alpine exploring equivalent Dr Pedro Slider originated from these parts. His ability to slide and not cut his turns as well as constantly give lessons in respecting the sun makes him some authority. The lady of the party insisted on stealing hotel food to make sandwiches as well as mastering the technique of face sucking half peaches at the dinner table – extraordinary.
The rest was and is all a bit of a blur…
