2004 International Father Christmas Convention

“It’s April, for crying out loud”, “We have a wedding in Stornaway”, “I need to stay in that night”, “Where am I going to get a Santa Outfit from?” , “ It’s the Grand National, we’ll be away that weekend”, “It really doesn’t sound like my bag”, “You can’t get babysitters in April for love nor money”… come on, live a little!

This was an awesome event (how we pulled it off, I’ll never know). Once again, well done to those that came and made such an effort to embrace the theme. The convention was represented by Santa’s from nations around the globe including Hawaii, Scotland, Wales, Barbados, English Country and the USA to name but a few. There was a special appearance from Santa Snoop Doggy Woolf, two elves gatecrashed and Elvish The King also showed up!

Santa’s Geezers hit the right notes, the snow tumbled out of the sky and the mince pies were as tasty as your grandmother used to make them. This party also saw a first for a Tonsley party, and due to the overwhelming demand for trap 3, we think it will become a regular feature: look out next time for the Lucky Ladies Loo!

It was a giggle from start to finish and we look forward to seeing you all again.

Finally thanks all for coming and supporting our cause, the Glanfield Children’s Group for disabled kids.

2026: And, as with most of the our parties in those days, the after party was in the kitchen at No.10 into the small hours. Photos and videos discovered 22 years later…
