They were under starters orders and they were away… the start of the 10th year of Tonsley Events was marked by one of the largest put on by the Tonsley crew for many years. 150 friends gathered for Tonsley Ten – “A Day at the Races”. The venue was The Vale of Aylesbury with Garth and South Berks Hunt Point-to-Point steeplechases at Kingston Blount (8th May 2010).
The weather was not kind and the assembled huddled under a very British shanty town of gazebos and marquees. A fine spread was contributed to by everyone with all manner of fantastic pies and puddings and washed down with a bottle or two of Tonsley Tipple – a bottled celebratory real ale.
The third race, the Ladies Open, was sponsored by Tonsley Events and this saw tremendous excitement with a flurry of betting – Badger, Shoudawoudacouda, Avesomeofthat or Rustic John?! Alas no… it was Lady Myfanwy who won by a length in a thrilling race (with one or two ecstatic shreaks from the clever gamblers among us)!

Despite the weather’s best attempts to dampen spirits, the day was full of fun for the children, catching up with old friends and some not so serious betting!
Thanks to all for coming and we look forward to seeing you at the next event and throughout the next 10 years!
