 Official London Marathon website

Tonsley Events are proud to announce that for the second year running, they will be in full support of the London Marathon. After a fantastic performance by 2002's Tonsley Trackstar, our very own SImon Woolf has stepped into the running shoes for 2003! And so here we are asking YOU to help Woolfy in his quest to run 26.2 miles around London on 13th April to raise funds for Whizz-kidz, a national children's charity with a very simple goal - to give disabled children and young people independent mobility.

Regardless of whether you want to watch Woolfy do it, help him do it, raise funds so he will do it or simply have a beer whilst he talks about doing it, this is the site to follow his fortunes!

Woolfy's Profile

Aged 34, Simon J H Woolf has always had two life passions: beer and ale. In fact, this time last year, he was quoted as saying that he could "never be arsed with that running marlarkey" and "running is a complete waste of time". However, a number of sessions with the Tonsley Training Team has turned him round and now Battersea Park regulars will often speak of the speed of "the cheetah" as he hurtles by in his florescent yellow tight lycra all-in-one, sending the old dears to the ground and blowing their poodles into the trees.

His mother has recently expressed her delight at Simon's new hobby, while comparing it with surprise to some of his older favourite pasttimes like Airfix aeroplane construction and chucking eggs at passing cars on the A51. Cheeky boy! His father, on the other hand, declined to comment.
