Six Nations Competition 2012

CLOSED:
WINNER:

17th March 2012
Jamie Bruce

Jamie wins (quietly as ever)

Another cracking year - thanks to all for joining an exciting tournament.

BIG congratulations go to Jamie, finishing comfortably top of our league, driven in the main by a FIRST PLACE position during Round 3. That's not just first place on Tonsley's table, but actually coming out on top of the whole ESPN competition (of 80,000 players) - here's the proof. A Tonsley first. But pure jammy fluke of course.

Dan Potter was next up, followed by the ever-mysterious Fluvius Junior. Joe deserves a special mention as the first to ever win a Tonsley competition and to now also lose one (outright). What was it this time, Joe?

Check out the final league standings below. And banter from the competition is on the Noticeboard.

We've only just emerged from the Rugby World Cup competition and, with a little respite over Christmas, here we go again... now in it's sixth year, it's the infamous Six Nations Competition.

The good news is, it's as it ever was: simple, fun and low maintenance (for most of us):

Pick 15 players from various nations, score points for tries, kicks, man-of-the-match and even turning up. Get to it!

The administration is the same as before - it's open to all and free to play. Same game, same rules.

It's free to join, so get to it!

1. Register to play below.

2. Pick your team.

3. Use the "Private League" option to join the Tonsley league. The details you need are:

League Name: Tonsley Events Six Nations 2012

RULES

The rules are summarised below (for full rules, visit the Scrum site here).

TEAM SELECTION:

The game is split into five Game Rounds as follows:

Game Round 1: Saturday 4 February and Sunday 5 February
Game Round 2: Saturday 11 February and Sunday 12 February
Game Round 3: Saturday 25 February and Sunday 26 February
Game Round 4: Saturday 10 March and Sunday 11 March
Game Round 5: Saturday 17 March

Taking part couldn't be easier. Simply select a 15-man team from the player list, making sure you have maximum four players from each nation and the right number of players in each position (three front-row forwards, two second-row forwards, three back-row forwards, one scrum-half, one fly-half, two centres and three outside backs).

Finally, pick one of your team to take your kicks at goal and you'll then be all set for the tournament kick-off at 14:30 GMT on Saturday 4th February.

If you are unsure on team selection, start out by clicking the "Lucky Dip" selection button and the system will automatically select a valid team for you.

TEAM CHANGES:

During the tournament you can react to your players' form and availability by using transfers to change some of your selected players.

Please note that you can make unlimited transfers until the first match of the competition at 14:30 GMT on Saturday 4th February.

Once the competition is underway, each coach is allocated 15 transfers in total, but can only make up to five transfers between Game Rounds. Designated kicker changes are unlimited.

However, both team changes and kicker changes are not permitted between the first scheduled kick-off on Friday or Saturday and 00:00 GMT on Monday for each weekend.

All team changes and kicker changes take place with immediate effect.

When making transfers, you must always ensure that your team contains no more than four players from each nation.

Once you've made team changes, always check your that your designated kicker is still recorded as you intended.
