Six Nations Competition 2010

CLOSED:
WINNER:

20th March 2010
Tom Woolrich

Winner, Tommo, in his Sunday best

Another cracking year - thanks to all for joining an exciting tournament.

Congratulations to Tommo, finishing top of our league (come and get your playstation!) and to Ben Cuttle for sneaking in just behind. The mysterious Fluvius Junior put in a solid performance throughout but was tactically trapped in the end and settled for third.

Eddy Bradbury reappeared towards the end, but couldn't capture last year's form. There were also some late runs from Mike Bruce, John Flood and Robert Senior. Claire Bear clung on after an early peak in the first week.

As for the hosts, Floody and Rob recovered from a weak start. Alas, Joe never did - "IT problems" we are told (again). Even Woolfy 's traditional spoof team beat Giant Orca.

Some blatantly fell to the back and resigned to wooden spoons but you made some of the rest look better, so we thank you for that!

Check out the final league standings below. Oh, and the trailer is still up. And banter from the competition is on the Noticeboard.

For some, we are told, there has been a nauseous 10 months of waiting. For them, we have good news: it's time.

Old-timers will be pleased to hear there is little change. Newcomers can rest assured in the tried and tested: it's another Private League on Scrum.com's Fantasy Rugby site.

Oh, and a wee little trailer to get things started! Check out the video below, just a tad OTT... It's time.

RULES

The rules are summarised below (for full rules, visit the Scrum site here).

TEAM SELECTION:

The game is split into five Game Rounds as follows:

Game Round 1: - Saturday 6th February and Sunday 7th February
Game Round 2: - Saturday 13th February and Sunday 14th February
Game Round 3: - Friday 26th February and Saturday 27th February
Game Round 4: - Saturday 13th March and Sunday 14th March
Game Round 5: - Saturday 20th March

Taking part couldn't be easier. Simply select a 15-man team from the player list, making sure you have maximum four players from each nation and the right number of players in each position (three front-row forwards, two second-row forwards, three back-row forwards, one scrum-half, one fly-half, two centres and three outside backs).

Finally, pick one of your team to take your kicks at goal and you'll then be all set for the tournament kick-off at 14:30 GMT on Saturday 6th February.

If you are unsure on team selection, start out by clicking the "Lucky Dip" selection button and the system will automatically select a valid team for you.

TEAM CHANGES:

During the tournament you can react to your players' form and availability by using transfers to change some of your selected players.

Please note that you can make unlimited transfers until the first match of the competition at 14:30 GMT on Saturday, 6th February.

Once the competition is underway, each coach is allocated 15 transfers in total, but can only make up to five transfers between Game Rounds. Designated kicker changes are unlimited.

However, both team changes and kicker changes are not permitted between the first scheduled kick-off on Friday or Saturday and 00:00 GMT on Monday for each weekend.

All team changes and kicker changes take place with immediate effect.

When making transfers, you must always ensure that your team contains no more than four players from each nation.

Once you've made team changes, always check your that your designated kicker is still recorded as you intended.
