Rugby World Cup Competition 2011 Is it really four year's since that manic competition?! Those of you who were about in the heady days of 2007 may recall a crazy competition of multiple levels (here's a reminder). Well, this time we are using the reliable ESPN system that has kept us entertained through the last four Six Nations Competitions since France 2007 and, you may be relieved to hear, this is therefore a tad simpler to play and keep up with... and we've all learnt a trick or two about fantasy league since 2007 anyway. So... pick 15 players from various nations, score points for tries, kicks, man-of-the-match and even turning up.
Final team selection is due in by the tournament kick-off on on Friday 9th September (09:30 BST) (thereafter, you are allowed various transfers throughout the tournament - see rules below). LEAGUE TABLE Visit the Tonsley Events RWC 2011 League Table on the official Scrum site for LIVE SCORES. RULES The rules are summarised below (for full rules, visit the ESPN site here). TEAM SELECTION: The game is split into seven Game Rounds as follows: Round
1: Group games between Friday 9th September and Sunday 11th September
(inclusive) The Game Rounds have been specifically designed so that all the top-ranked rugby nations play one match (and only one match) in each round. Taking part couldn't be easier. Simply select a 15-man team from the player list, making sure you have maximum four players from each nation and the right number of players in each position (three front-row forwards, two second-row forwards, three back-row forwards, one scrum-half, one fly-half, two centres and three outside backs). Finally, pick one of your team
to take your kicks at goal and you'll then be all set for the tournament kick-off
at 09:30 BST on Friday 9th September. If you are unsure on team selection, start out by clicking the "Lucky Dip" selection button and the system will automatically select a valid team for you. TEAM CHANGES: During the tournament you can react to your players' form and availability by using transfers to change some of your selected players. Please note that you can make unlimited transfers until the first match of the competition at 09:30 BST on Friday 9th September. Once the competition is underway, each coach is allocated 20 transfers in total, but can only make up to five transfers between Game Rounds. Designated kicker changes are unlimited. Team changes must be made before the scheduled start time of a match in order to take effect for that game - irrespective of whether the match has actually kicked off or not. Changes made during a match will only come into effect for the next game. When making transfers, you must always ensure that your team contains no more than four players from each nation. Kicker changes (and team changes involving the kicker) during the tournament can only be made between the completion of the last match of a Game Round and the first scheduled kick-off time of the next. Once you've made team changes, always check your that your designated kicker is still recorded as you intended. SCORING POINTS: Players score points according to their real life performance in matches.
